It was inside a nightclub, so as a way of introducing myself, I offered to buy drinks for her and her friends. That's how it started. We married last month, after almost two years of courtship. I love her, and she loves me back. That's all.

The policeman who became my friend
My husband is a police officer. I met him at the police barracks in Tema, where I had gone to visit a friend. We became friends and started dating. After exactly one year, we married. Currently, we're in our first year, with our first child already here.

He wouldn't let me go

I was prepared to approach him
"I had a crush on him when I first saw him through the window of the shop I worked in. He was just charming, and I really wanted him. A few days later, I had the opportunity to interact with him when he came to do business with us. He told me he'll travel the following week, but I thought he was joking until I received a call from him -- from outside the country. Almost a decade after our first encounter, we married, and I feel very proud for daring to approach him. In the Bible, Esther and Ruth were the only women who made a move on the men they loved, and interestingly, they are the only women who have books named after them."

We met at a friend's wedding
"Love comes when you least expect. I was attending the wedding of a friend, and was highly impressed with the decor and excellent organisation. I was then introduced to this pretty, hearty, smiling lady who happened to be the event planner. Her outgoing yet calm disposition caught my attention. The rest, as we say, is history. It is three years since we met. We're married with a smart baby boy, and July 2015 will mark our second anniversary in marriage."

It was during a Christian programme
"On March 15, 2011 when I met this beautiful lady, I had come to Kumasi from Jirapa in the Upper West Region, where I was doing national service after graduating from the university. It was a Christian programme, and I was one of the speakers. Immediately I saw her, I felt something different. You can't be wrong about that! It was such a strong feeling, and surely, it grew stronger, and more entrenched after our first conversation. It was a Moba-Gey Hey union. We married last year, 21st June, and I have since been enjoying this gift of a woman God gave me."

She was caring and supportive
“I met her while I was a student intern at a private radio station in Takoradi. She worked with the marketing department when I started as an assistant in the news room. I cherished the few occasions we crossed each other's path, especially during general meetings where I often had the opportunity to talk to her. Later, when I had the chance to work more closely with her, I realised how caring and supportive she was. I wouldn't want to see such a woman being maltreated by any man, so on December 2009, after four years of dating, we married."
